Boston Bruins lose key defenseman for the remainder of the first round

The Boston Bruins have called up defenseman Mason Lohrei from the AHL after Andrew Peeke was injured in game two against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Bruins suffered a 3-2 loss last night, evening the series 1-1 and losing Peeke to an injury.
Coach Jim Montgomery confirmed Peeke won't join the team for games three and four in Toronto due to a week-to-week injury. Derek Forbort will travel with the team but remains day-to-day.

To fill Peeke's spot, the Bruins have recalled Mason Lohrei from Providence. Lohrei, standing at 6'5", has played 41 games with Boston this season, tallying 13 points, and 21 games with Providence, collecting 16 points. He was drafted by Boston in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Lohrei, 23, has appeared in 41 games with Boston this season, recording four goals and nine assists for 13 points. The 6-foot-5, 211-pound blueliner has also skated in 21 games with Providence this season, totaling one goal and 15 assists for 16 points. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was originally selected by Boston in the second round (58th overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft."
