The Boston Bruins are planning to target the Florida Panthers top players after the incident with Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand.

Jim Montgomery addressed the media before the crucial Game 4 against the Florida Panthers, touching on various topics including Brad Marchand's health, his take on the Sam Bennett hit, and his team's response.

In Game 3, the Bruins suffered a significant setback, losing 6-2, with Marchand getting injured in the third period due to a hit from the Panthers' Bennett.

Montgomery provided an update on Marchand's condition, stating that he will be out for tonight's game and that his status is day-to-day. He also mentioned Danton Heinen as a potential replacement option.

Regarding the Bennett hit on Marchand, Montgomery expressed his opinion, calling it a play that crossed the line, indicating that Bennett knew what he was doing.

"I think it's outside the lines, it was someone who plays the game on the edge and he knew what he was doing. I don't know if you've seen the picture from behind. He clearly loaded up."

Despite the lack of retaliation in Game 3, Montgomery took personal responsibility, acknowledging that his team didn't respond adequately. He emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and avoiding unnecessary penalties, especially considering the Panthers' effective power play.

"I feel thats my fault that we didn't relatite to some degree. Your trying to get back in a game. It's 1-0 until they get the four minute powerplay we start the third and score right away and now we have juices going. There's reasons why? It's something I take some personal responsibility for that".

Teammates Pavel Zacha and Trent Frederic also shared their thoughts, emphasizing the team's collective response and the need for everyone to step up in Marchand's absence.

"To go after our captain, that's not okay with us. We're ready to be physical again today and be a little bit harder on them."

"It's not going to be one guy it's going to be all of us as a group...he brings much more than what you see on the ice so we're going to have to do that as well and have a lot of guys step up and talk."

Looking ahead to Game 4, the Bruins are expected to target the Panthers' top players and aim to send a message that targeting their captain will not be tolerated.

Overall, Game 4 between the Panthers and Bruins promises to be intense and worth watching, even without Brad Marchand on the ice.
