Contract negotiations between Swayman and the Boston Bruins appear to be stalled. Things took a turn after Bruins president Cam Neely publicly addressed the situation, saying during the season-opening press conference that he had "$64 million reasons" why Swayman should be playing.
Swayman's agent later denied that such an offer was ever on the table, posting a statement on social media saying they needed a few days to decide the next steps.
Since then, trade rumors have been circulating. Elliotte Friedman even suggested that Swayman might request a trade.
One insider on twitter proposed the idea of trading Swayman to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Trevor Zegras. A poll showed that 25% of Bruins fans supported the trade while 75% are against it.
Zegras who has been labeled a locker room problem, might not be a great fit for the Bruins. Additionally, trading Swayman would leave Boston without a true starting goaltender. If the Bruins do decide to trade Swayman, they would likely need to secure another solid goaltender in return.
