The Boston Bruins are off to a solid 2-1-0 start in the 2024/25 season, but former announcer Jack Edwards thinks the team is getting unfair treatment from the referees and he hasn't held back in voicing his opinion.

After losing their season opener to the Florida Panthers, the Bruins bounced back with two wins against the Montreal Canadiens and Los Angeles Kings. However those victories didn't come without controversy especially when it came to the officiating.

Edwards no longer restricted by his role as a broadcaster took to Reddit to criticize the referees. One particular moment that caught his attention was a disallowed Bruins goal against the Canadiens which was ruled as goalie interference. Many fans were confused by the call, and Edwards was one of them.

"So Primeau thrusts off his line and Brazeau goes to inside ice," wrote Edwards on Reddit. "If you draw a line to the sky from the crease, the contact comes outside the crease. Next goal Montreal is going to appeal that a Bruin had a garlic garnish on his pregame and Primeau couldn't do his job because of the Bruin's bad breath."

Edwards also voiced frustration over penalties called against Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov, sarcastically claiming:

"AND MONTREAL GETS ANOTHER CALL BECAUSE ZADOROV DID HIS JOB!"

While it's not unusual to see controversial calls in NHL games, Edwards is clearly taking advantage of his retirement to speak his mind, and it's likely we'll hear more of his candid opinions as the season goes on.
