NHL Insider Kevin Weekes just reported that the Carolina Hurricanes have locked in head coach Rod Brind'Amour with a multi-year contract extension.

There was some speculation about Brind'Amour's future after the Hurricanes got knocked out earlier this week by the New York Rangers in six games.

With his contract up, fans were wondering if the Hurricanes might make a change, especially since they haven't hit the playoff heights they'd hoped for. Yet it seems they're sticking with Brind'Amour through thick and thin.

It's not hard to see why under Brind'Amour's leadership, the Hurricanes have reached the second round in four consecutive seasons and have been playoff regulars since 2019.

Yet they haven't won an Eastern Conference finals game since 2006, the year their bench boss led them to a Stanley Cup as their captain.
