During a recent segment of "Insider Trading" on TSN, Pierre LeBrun mentioned that Rick Nash, the GM for Hockey Canada assembling the roster for the upcoming World Championship, has contacted Mason McTavish from Anaheim and Connor Bedard from the Blackhawks.
This is part of the early stages of forming the team's roster, and they've approached McTavish and Bedard because their teams are out of the playoffs, making them available. LeBrun also noted that Bedard is expected to participate.
Additionally, LeBrun mentioned a plan to approach Sidney Crosby once the Penguins are officially eliminated, which would add an exciting dynamic, as Bedard, a young talent, could potentially play alongside his childhood idol. The 2024 IIHF World Championship is scheduled to take place in Czechia from May 10-26.
