In breaking news, the Dallas Stars have announced on Monday afternoon that they have placed one of their veteran defensemen on the waiver wire.

Stars Place Joel Hanley On Waivers

According to head coach Pete DeBoer, defenseman Joel Hanley has officially been placed on waivers.

Hanley has sat out as a healthy scratch for half of Dallas' 16 games since January 25th, so this move is not a surprise. If he clears waivers without being claimed, expect the 32-year-old defenseman, who has only managed three assists in 32 NHL games this year, to be sent down to AHL Texas.
