The Edmonton Oilers didn't have anything going their way last night as they dropped their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a final score of 6-3. A last-ditch effort made the score look better than the game would have indicated, as the Leafs led the entire game, and at one point it was 5-0.
The frustration of the tough game seemed to get to some of the Oilers players, namely Evander Kane and Leon Draisaitl. Both Kane and Draisaitl were seen on the Oilers bench in what seemed like a pretty heated argument. This isn't great news for Oilers fans as there has been speculation about Kane's presence in the Oilers' locker room, and this point in the year is definitely not when you want to have issues.
Take a look at the argument in the video below.
This sort of conflict happens all the time on NHL teams and isn't that bad when you consider the conflicts that end up in actual fights during practice. It really is just a testament to both Kane and Draisaitl's passion for winning, as they clearly hate losing even when the score is so tilted the opponent's way.
The major issue here is the point in the season. Coming into the final 10-15 game stretch, you want all players to be firing on all cylinders. The Oilers have a chance to get back on track today against the Ottawa Senators in the second half of their back-to-back on the western road trip. This is especially important considering the Oilers' window with Draisaitl and McDavid is quickly closing.
