Matthew Tkachuk comments on the embarrassing 8-1 loss to the Oilers in game 4

Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers shared his thoughts after a tough 8-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Despite the crushing defeat, Tkachuk remains optimistic about their position in the series. He highlighted the upcoming home game, expressing excitement to play in front of their supportive fans.
"We're in an unbelievable spot right now," said Tkachuk in spite of the loss. "We came here and after all that craziness got a split. Now we're going home [to play] in front of our unbelievable fans. They're so excited to see us and we're so excited to play in front of them again."

Tkachuk defended his goaltender, Sergei Bobrovsky, stating that none of the eight goals conceded were his fault. He emphasized the team's approach to learning from losses and moving forward positively.
"We gave up eight goals and zero of them were the goalie's fault," taking the blame for his goaltender."
Looking ahead to Game 5, Tkachuk acknowledged the need to regroup and get back on track after their first loss in a while. He recognized the challenges but remained focused on the next steps for the team.
"We haven't lost a game in a while until tonight," admitted Tkachuk. "At the end of the day, back to the drawing board. We win, we learn from it and we put it aside, we lose, same thing."
