The Kings need to address their goaltending issues, with only David Rittich under contract for the 2024-25 season, while Cam Talbot and Pheonix Copley will become unrestricted free agents on July 1st.
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported that Kaliyev, a pending restricted free agent, wants to be traded, and GM Rob Blake will try to move him this summer. Kaliyev, 22, was picked 33rd overall in the 2019 draft but had a disappointing season with 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 51 games.
Blake might use Kaliyev in a package deal to address other roster needs, possibly aiming to acquire a new goaltender. The Kings have been linked to Nashville Predators goaltender Juuse Saros in the past, which might be revisited.
