After a tumultuous run with the Winnipeg Jets, last summer the Los Angeles Kings gave up a ransom to land Pierre-Luc Dubois, giving up Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo and Rasmus Kupari in the process. A year on from that deal however, and it looks like a steal for the Jets, with Dubois struggling to adjust, on and off the ice in Los Angeles.
However, the Kings inked him to a $68 million deal, and now, they have a week to make a decision on his future, as he turns 26-years of age on June 24th. If the team buy him out before he turns 26, they are on the hook for just one third of his deal, but after the moment he turns 26, they are then put on the hook for two thirds of his deal, giving them a week to make a monumental decision. Now, insider Frank Seravalli has opened up on the potential of a deal, revealing it's still a major possibility;
With the Kings still having their veteran core and the belief they can make one last Cup run, moving PLD could be the move to open up their future as well, because if they don't and he continues his poor level of play, it will be a contract that holds them back in a big way.
