This past generation of the NHL has been full of absolute stars, with goaltending being no exception, as we saw the likes of Carey Price, Henriq Lundqvist, Jonathan Quick and many others dominate the league for a long time. However, none have had the longevity of Marc-Andre Fleury, who is still going strong over 20-years into his career, but now, confirms that the 2024-25 campaign will be his last in the league.
Heading into his final season with Minnesota, Fleury has won three Stanley Cup's, a Vezina Trophy and has moved into the top-five all-time rankings in many important categories including saves, games played and wins. There will be plenty of time to celebrate him properly as his final games move closer, but with the Wild having a chance to push for the playoffs, he'll be focused on having a fantastic final season in the NHL.
For now, let's hope that all fans can take a moment to celebrate his career and enjoy the time we have left of one of the leagues greatest ever goaltenders.
