Two players' journeys with the Montreal Canadiens have come to an end, as announced by Kent Hughes. The first player is Tanner Pearson, who will not be returning to Montreal.
The second player, surprisingly, is goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo. Kaskisuo performed very well with the Montreal Canadiens' AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket, during the 2023-24 season.
Kent Hughes decided against having a three-goalie situation with the Laval Rocket, making Connor Hughes the new #4 goalie for the Canadiens. It's unfortunate for Kaskisuo, who was well-liked by fans and expected to return.
This is what Kent Hughes conveyed to Kaskisuo, just as he did to Tanner Pearson. Kaskisuo's objective now is to find a new position in North America, and we sincerely wish him the best. He has proven that he can be a good goaltender in the American Hockey League.
Kaskisuo, 30 years old, 6 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing 194 pounds, ends his time with a record of 7-4-0, a goals-against average of 2.90, and a save percentage of 0.909. He truly helped the Rocket steady the ship in net mid-season when it was extremely challenging for Jakub Dobes and Strauss Mann.

Best of luck in the future, Kasimir!
