Hockey has always been a tough sport & while fighting has decreased in recent years we still see some intense moments like this one.
With the NHL season in full swing it's easy to miss some of the action especially in the American Hockey League (AHL) which can be just as exciting. On Friday, Vincent Arseneau of the Laval Rocket gave fans one of those moments during a fight against a Syracuse Crunch player. It was a good fight, but what really caught people's attention happened afterward.
After the fight, the 32-year-old veteran appeared to break his fingers. However, without much fuss, Arseneau quickly snapped them back into place, creating a viral moment on social media.
This moment of raw toughness stands out in a sport that's moving away from such intense physicality. With over 200 AHL games under his belt since 2012, Arseneau hasn't yet made it to the NHL, but he's certainly been one of the AHL's more entertaining players.
Fighting is still common in the AHL, where players are battling not just opponents, but for a shot at the NHL. So, it's no surprise the fight leading up to this moment was fierce.
While this fight won't earn either player a call-up to the NHL, the crowd loved it, and the clip is quickly spreading across social media.
