Ottawa general manager Steve Staios has been shopping Brady Tkachuk all season « to see what they could get in return». This news comes after another disappointing season for the Ottawa Senators, who sit 14th place in the Eastern Conference, and 26th in the entire league.
Tkachuk has been the Senators captain since the 2021-2022 NHL season, and has been a force on the ice in that time, putting up 220 points and 372 penalty minutes in 239 games.
The 4th overall pick in the 2018 NHL draft, naming Thachuk captain and signing him to a 7 year contract extension in 2021 seemed to solidify his place in Ottawa for the future, however that may not be the case.
Should a Brady Tkachuk trade become more likely as the months pass, the New Jersey Devils seem to be interested in his services, according to one NHL analyst.
Brady Tkachuk has a unique playstyle, being one of very few NHL players being able to produce point-per-game numbers, while also providing physical play and leadership, presumably making him a hot commodity for the other teams around the NHL.
