The Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella surprised everyone with an apology to the media before the start of his latest press conference.

After Sunday's 4-1 loss against the Florida Panthers, Tortorella caused a stir in the media community when he refused to answer a question about the goaltender Felix Sandstrom.

With the Flyers set to face the Rangers tonight, people were eager to see how Tortorella would handle his first press conference since the controversy.

In a surprising twist, he apologized with the following statementL

"I made a terrible mistake with you guys the other night. You might have asked me about Sanny. My body language was wrong. What I should have said to you was he tried. Sanny tried. Things happened this year that put our goaltending situation into a state of flux. Sanny did not deserve that from me. You had the perfect right to ask that question. He did not deserve that from me. It was wrong."
