With the Philadelphia Flyers – it's been a rollercoaster on and off ice this season. Head coach John Tortorella dropped a bombshell during his media availability today, shedding light on the team's goaltending situation as they push for the playoffs.

The Flyers knew the challenges surrounding Carter Hart even before the season began. With Hart's absence due to his involvement in the 2018 Hockey Canada scandal, the team knew they could be in hot water regarding their number one netminder.
Knowing the risks, the Flyers didn't move to shore up their goaltending depth. Instead, they found themselves relying heavily on Samuel Ersson, who hasn't exactly been lighting it up between the pipes this season.
Yet, Tortorella isn't pointing fingers at Ersson. He acknowledges that the young goalie has been thrust into a tough spot, playing more games than initially anticipated at the start of the season.
Even with the addition of new goalie Ivan Fedotov, who has his unconventional path to the NHL, the Flyers' goaltending woes persist. With the team slipping out of playoff contention in the final stretch of the regular season, it's clear that the goaltending situation has become a significant headache for the Flyers. The only question is, can they overcome it?
