John Scott was a major part of the Sharks franchise, even in just the 38 games he played for them in the 2014-15 season. Though a more serious enforcer than a goal-scorer, the former NHL all-star improved the team's chances of success with every on-ice appearance.
Despite his contributions, Scott retired from the league at the end of the following season, splitting only 12 games between the Arizona Coyotes and Montreal Canadiens. However, it seems he may be back to make a return to the NHL for the team. In a recent edition of the Dropping The Gloves Podcast, Scott implied that Sharks fans can expect an upcoming appearance from both hosts in San Jose.
While it may be nice to have a return to the league by a San Jose favorite, at nearly 42 years old with a large family, it seems unreasonable to suspect that John Scott will play another season with the Sharks. Given his life in Michigan, it could even be difficult for him to appear as a regular broadcaster, leading many to believe he will only be attending an upcoming ceremony.
Though he is not likely going to play for the Sharks, San Jose fans will certainly be excited for whatever John Scott has in store for them. With how last season went for the team, hopefully, it brings back the mojo of the players to give them a better record.
