Joseph Woll, Leafs rookie goaltender, has been sent to the AHL's Toronto Marlies for a conditioning loan after recovering from a high ankle sprain he suffered on December 7th.
Woll, who hasn't played since then, returned to full practice last week. He's had a record of 8-5-1 this season, with a 2.80 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage over 15 games.
Selected in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Leafs, Woll became their top goalie this season due to Ilya Samsonov's struggles. During Woll's absence, the Leafs relied on Martin Jones, who has a 10-7-1 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.69 GAA, and Samsonov, who holds a 12-4-6 record with a .882 save percentage and a 3.19 GAA.
The Maple Leafs, currently on a four-game winning streak, will play against the Arizona Coyotes, while the Marlies will face the Laval Rocket in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday.
