It appears Brad Treliving is aiming to reunite another family member with the Toronto Maple Leafs. After bringing Alex Nylander into the organization, he's now targeting the son of assistant general manager Shane Doan.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Utah HC are reportedly working on a trade involving restricted free agent Nick Robertson, who has been the subject of trade rumors all off-season. Robertson has informed the Leafs that he will not re-sign, seeking more playing time.

According to NHL Trade Rumours, the potential deal would send Nick Robertson to Utah in exchange for Josh Doan, the son of former franchise legend Shane Doan, who currently works for the Maple Leafs.

This trade would benefit both teams: Robertson would get a fresh start with a more prominent role on a team needing offense, while Doan would provide Toronto with a cheaper, physical player to add depth and potentially become a key contributor as he gains experience.

While it's uncertain if this trade will happen, it's intriguing given the holes in the Toronto lineup that could be filled by younger players. Injecting youth into the team, especially surrounded by star players, could help the Leafs in the long run.
