The Toronto Maple Leafs have many fans across the world, but now a top team sponsor has shockingly pursued legal action with a beloved superfan.

Given the massive fanbase of the Toronto Maple Leafs, it's no shock that the team have some great fans and some bad fans, but one on social media known as 'Kurtis from Alberta' is certainly in the former. During every Maple Leafs game, the dedicated fan will post videos to social media of him in full gear in a basement full of Maple Leafs memorabilia showing his full support to his favourite team.

Win or lose, Kurtis is one of the most positive fans on all of social media, most prominently X, where he shows his love and support to the team no matter the circumstances.

One of his favourite past times during these videos is drinking beer, with the alcohol becoming so synonymous with him that he even brought out his own beer in recent times. However, that's now landed him in hot-water with the team, as the sponsor of the Maple Leafs (not named, but likely Molson Coors) have come out and sent him a cease and desist, demanding he not drink any beer that isn't there's while wearing Maple Leafs gear.

Kurtis made the heartbreaking announcement on social media, and while fans were quick to point out that they have no legal right to do such a thing, the power that they have as a large company is enough to deter opposition from a small creator.

Ultimately, Kurtis is a great example of the passion and love that people have for hockey, especially in Canada, with this latest move from the Maple Leafs a tough one to see that goes against everything the sport is about, so hopefully in some way soon this can be rectified.
