The NHL Player Safety Department has made a decision regarding Max Domi's actions during game one of the Leafs vs. Bruins series, and it's stirring up controversy.

Domi came into the game with a clear intention to play a physical game and get under the skin of his opponents, as seen in his pre-game altercation with Brad Marchand.

During the game, Domi made a controversial move by punching Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy in the back of the head. Many were eager to see if the Department of Player Safety would take action against him.

However, it was announced that Domi would not face any supplementary discipline for the incident, sparking backlash from the Bruins' fanbase.

"Because 5pm has come and gone, #LeafsForever Max Domi will not face supplementary discipline from the @NHLPlayerSafety for this play!"

McAvoy, being one of Boston's top players, appeared to be targeted by Domi throughout the game.

"If Brad Marchand did to anyone on the Leafs what Max Domi did to Charlie McAvoy, he'd be suspended for the entirety of round 1 by the way"

As tensions rise, all eyes will be on Monday night's game to see how the Bruins respond to Domi's actions.
