A member of the Toronto Maple Leafs coaching staff is already in a hot seat, which could force the organization to make a massive change.

Once again this season, the Toronto Maple Leafs are failing to meet the high expectations placed by themselves and the fans. Despite holding the third spot in the Atlantic Division with a 6-5-1 record and being only one point away from the Stanley Cup champions Florida Panthers in the second place, a lot of people aren't happy with the Leafs' performances.

A singular area of their game has been targeted as problematic: the powerplay.
When you have star players like Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner together on the ice with a man advantage, you shouldn't ask yourself if they can score, the question should be how many goals they can score.

But this season, the first of Marc Savard managing the powerplay as the Leafs' assistant coach, they are dead last in the NHL, with only three goals in 38 chances.

This left many people wondering if Marc Savard could be in a hot seat in Toronto. The insider Nick Alberga asked his followers on X their thoughts on the situation, and many believe Savard should be fired:

Yesterday, the Leafs lost 4-2 against the St. Louis Blues, Craig Berube's former team, in an action-packed evening. They failed to capitalize on four powerplay opportunities, attracting everyone's scrutiny. Every play has been reviewed on social media, including this one, where Oliver Ekman-Larsson reaches the offensive zone's blue line, but decides to send the puck back to his zone to his teammates, in an attempt to make one of the easiest, most predictable plays in the NHL:

The Maple Leafs will be back in action tonight against the red-hot Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild. Last night, the forward scored three points, including two goals, against the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 5-3 win. If the Leafs fail to capitalize on their powerplay chances, a tough challenge awaits Craig Berube and his players.
