6-Foot-8 Rookie Matt Rempe Fights Deslauriers

Today, he engaged in a spirited bout with Nicolas Deslauriers just three minutes into the first period at Wells Fargo Center, delivering a throwback fight in what many are saying might be the best fight of the last decade.

One of the BEST hockey fights you'll ever see 😳🔥

Matt Rempe vs Nicolas Deslauriers 👊

This marked Rempe's second fight in four games since being called up from AHL Hartford, with his first fight occurring on his NHL debut during the Stadium Series win against the Islanders.

In a previous game against the Devils, Rempe delivered a hard hit on Nathan Bastian, resulting in a match penalty, but he faced no further disciplinary action from the NHL.

Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette commented postgame, stating, "He's a big guy. He was full steam ahead and kept everything down, tried to go through the body and I'm sure he hit everything. It's a tough call. We'll look at it and see."

Following the fight with Deslauriers, where Rempe had a significant height advantage, his penalty minutes since joining the Rangers now total 27.
