Reaves spoke with reporters on Thursday ahead of their game against the St. Louis Blues. Reaves who spent the first seven years of his career with the Blues acknowledged that it's a big game for the Leafs especially with head coach Craig Berube facing his former team.
Looking ahead to Thursday's matchup, Reaves was also asked about a possible rematch with New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe. Last season, their fight was one of the most anticipated moments, but nothing materialized in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.
Reaves, along with teammates Matthew Knies and Morgan Rielly, spoke about the significance of getting a win for Berube against his old team.
He also shared his thoughts on playing under Berube this season.
So far, Reaves has played in five of Toronto's seven games, delivering 14 hits but has yet to score a point. Berube's emphasis on physical play has been evident, and it's an approach the Leafs are embracing as they focus on keeping things simple.
Thursday's game is expected to be emotionally charged as the Leafs look to win for their coach.
