The Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets played a tight game on Wednesday night. However, a major incident overshadowed the show.

While the game had its spirited moments, such as the fight between Adam Klapka and Tyrel Bauer, it took a bad turn later on when one of the Jets' promising young talents, Cole Perfetti, had to leave the game after a dirty play by Martin Pospisil.

As the second period was winding down, Pospisil, an AHL player looking for a spot on the main roster, made a dangerous play on Cole Perfetti. This reckless action rightfully earned Pospisil a game misconduct.

Update on Perfetti After Pospisil Received Game Misconduct for Dirty Hit

Following the incident, Perfetti left the game. However, the Jets later clarified that this decision was made out of precaution. It was even suggested he could bypass the concussion protocol.

"A #NHLJets official added that Perfetti was pulled from the game for precautionary reasons but is not in concussion protocol. He will be reevaluated Thursday. "

Perfetti's condition will be reassessed today. The NHL could also take a look at the incident for further actions against Pospisil.
