Head coach Sheldon Keefe announced that Mitch Marner is unlikely to play in Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers due to a lower-body injury.
Marner missed Saturday's win against the Montreal Canadiens and didn't participate in Monday morning's practice after sustaining the injury during last Thursday's game against the Boston Bruins. The 26-year-old forward has tallied 25 goals and 76 points in 62 games this season.
To compensate for Marner's absence, forward Nick Robertson has been recalled from the AHL's Marlies. Robertson, who was sent down on March 2, has notched eight goals and 19 points in 41 games with the Maple Leafs this season, along with five goals and 11 points in nine games with the Marlies.
Additionally, defenseman Jake McCabe was also absent from Leafs practice. McCabe, who played 21:53 on Saturday night and recorded an assist, missed one game last week due to illness.
With Marner and McCabe missing from practice, the Leafs are making adjustments ahead of their Thursday matchup in Philadelphia.
