Mitchell played 13 games for Boston during the 2023-24 season earning two assists. The St. Albert Alberta native spent most of the season with the Bruins AHL team Providence Bruins. In 42 games, Mitchell scored six goals and 24 points, adding two goals and two assists in four Calder Cup Playoff games. Over his NHL career, he's played 95 games, recording four goals and 14 assists. In the AHL, Mitchell has 19 goals and 47 assists in 109 games, including six points in nine playoff games.
Meanwhile, Raphael Lavoie's eventful week seems to be coming to an end. Since October 6, Lavoie has been placed on waivers and claimed by the Oilers twice and Vegas three times. Now, he's finally cleared to play for the Henderson Silver Knights, Vegas's AHL affiliate.
Lavoie split the 2023-24 season between the Oilers and their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. In 66 AHL games, he scored 28 goals and added 22 assists for 50 points, leading the team in goals and ranking third in points. Lavoie played seven NHL games with Edmonton but did not score any points. Over 202 AHL games, he has 71 goals and 60 assists, plus two goals and six points in 10 playoff games.
Additionally, Winnipeg Jets goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen was placed on waivers and claimed by the Colorado Avalanche. Kahkonen signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Jets but lost the backup spot to Eric Comrie.
