Marc-Andre Fleury explains what Jordan Binnington to break hockey's code
In last night's hockey game, the Minnesota Wild defeated the St. Louis Blues 8-5 in a game that featured a moment of controversy. During the late 2nd period, Ryan Hartman scored a powerplay goal and made contact with Jordan Binnington, causing the St. Louis goalie to react violently.
Binnington jumped up and struck Hartman with his blocker, prompting Marc-Andre Fleury to charge down the ice to confront him. Despite being prevented by officials from reaching Binnington, Fleury's uncharacteristic behavior left many questioning what had caused him to react in such a way.
In post-game interviews, Fleury revealed that Binnington had deliberately hit him below the belt, leading to speculation that Binnington may face disciplinary action for his actions.
