The Boston Bruins have released their roster for tonight's preseason game against the Washington Capitals and announced an official update on Elias Lindholm's injury status.

Jim Montgomery shared disappointing news about Elias Lindholm, announcing he is now considered week-to-week with an injury.

Lindholm, who signed a seven-year, $7.75 million contract with the Bruins this offseason, hasn't skated since the first day of training camp, where he was paired with David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha on what could be the top line.

The Bruins signed Lindholm as a potential replacement for Patrice Bergeron, hoping he could bring a similar 200-foot game. Despite a down year last season, Lindholm had a career-high 82 points in 82 games in 2021-22. The team is hoping he can return to that form once healthy.

As for tonight's game, both teams are looking to bounce back after losing their first games of the preseason. The Bruins lost 3-2 to the New York Rangers on Sunday, while the Capitals were defeated 6-2 by the Philadelphia Flyers.

Fans will get their first look at Joonas Korpisalo in goal for the Bruins tonight. With Jeremy Swayman still unsigned, Korpisalo would likely be the starting goalie if the regular season began today. In Sunday's game against the Rangers, Brandon Bussi and Michael DiPietro both saw some action and are competing for the backup role to Korpisalo.

Tyler Johnson will also make his Bruins debut tonight. He signed a professional tryout contract a few weeks ago and has impressed during training camp. Now, fans will get a chance to see him in action as he tries to earn a spot on the roster.

The Capitals are fielding a lineup with many young players, but one to watch is veteran Tom Wilson, who will be in tonight's game. The Bruins have some tough players of their own who won't shy away from physical play.

The game will start at 7:00 PM ET at TD Garden.
