The Vegas Golden Knights have added a new player to their roster. As of August 20, 2024, forward Tanner Pearson has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the team.

Pearson, 32, brings over a decade of NHL experience, having played 11 seasons with several teams, including the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks, and Montreal Canadiens. Originally from Kitchener, Ontario, Pearson has appeared in 644 NHL games throughout his career.

Last season, Pearson played 54 games for the Canadiens, scoring 5 goals and adding 8 assists for a total of 13 points. His best season came during the shortened 2019-20 campaign with the Canucks, where he set a career-high with 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists).

Pearson started his NHL career with the Kings, where he tallied 144 points (69 goals, 75 assists) in 325 games over six seasons. He played a key role in the Kings' 2014 Stanley Cup run, contributing 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in 24 playoff games. The Kings drafted him 30th overall in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

With 51 playoff games and a Stanley Cup win under his belt, Pearson's experience and versatility could be valuable for the Golden Knights. This PTO gives him a chance to showcase his skills and possibly earn a spot on the team's roster for the upcoming season.
