Gary Bettman confirms Joel Quenneville's fate in the NHL

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman recently responded to questions about former Chicago Blackhawks Joel Quenneville and Stan Bowman.

For months, rumors have linked former NHL head coach Joel Quenneville to various teams, but it's still unclear if he will ever coach in the NHL again.

Over the weekend, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman was asked about the status of Quenneville, who was disgraced during his time with the Chicago Blackhawks. Bettman indicated that a decision is coming soon. He confirmed that both Quenneville and former Blackhawks executive Stan Bowman have reached out to discuss their potential return to the league.

"They currently are not eligible," confirmed Bettman. "They have both reached out seeking an opportunity to come back and that is something that I have to consider."

While some believe it's only a matter of time before Bettman reinstates them, the situation is more complex. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently highlighted that both Bettman and the NHL are taking this issue very seriously.

"There's been some reporting that there's been communication between the league office and Kyle Beach about how he may feel about their return," revealed Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast.

The details of these conversations remain private due to the sensitive nature of the topic.

"Someone did confirm to me there has been a conversation, at least one, between Beach and the NHL," revealed Friedman. "Although they stressed to me that nobody was going to violate what was said... nobody would indicate in any way, shape or form of what was detailed in that conversation."

The futures of Quenneville and Bowman could very well depend on Kyle Beach's feelings, and only he knows how he feels about the entire situation.
