Notable NHL player agent Allan Walsh is back in the spotlight today, demanding the termination of commissioner Gary Bettman for his recent comments on CTE.

Bettman has consistently denied the connection between repeated head trauma and CTE, despite the tragic deaths of former NHL enforcers like Rick Rypien, Steve Montador, and Chris Simon, who all took their own lives.

«Chris' passing is tragic,» Bettman told NHL Insider Frank Seravalliin Florida last Wednesday. «And, you know, on all these matters, we wait to see what the medical experts tell us.

«Having said that, I think it's well documented with all the progress that we've made over the last couple decades to make the game as safe as possible.»

Walsh issued a strong statement, urging all stakeholders in the game to demand Bettman's resignation due to his refusal to acknowledge CTE. He emphasized the collective power of owners, players, media, and fans to push for change.

It's time for everyone with a stake in the game to demand Gary Bettman be removed as NHL commissioner. His continued denial of #CTE is not acceptable. The owners, players, media and fans have the collective power to demand he step down.

How many more Gary?

Bettman's recent remarks suggest a wait-and-see approach regarding CTE, which has drawn criticism. His stance is reminiscent of the NFL's reluctance to acknowledge the link between head trauma and CTE. Walsh believes Bettman's position is untenable given the gravity of the issue.
