In a shocking incident reported by a U16 league in Finland, a father is under police investigation after being caught on camera sabotaging the equipment of two other goalies on his son's team to ensure his own son got playing time.
"The night before a match, the father of the U16 goalkeeper had broken into the team's dressing room and stolen equipment from two other goalkeepers so that his own son could play.
The father, moving around in the dark, stole pads from one goalkeeper and skates from the other. He was caught thanks to surveillance cameras and has admitted his crime." - Is.fi

The league has chosen not to disclose the team's name or the father's identity to protect the young player, who was not involved in his father's actions. However, the league has handed the matter over to the police for investigation.
"Yes. We have submitted it to the authorities on the club's side for investigation.
I'm not going to comment any further at this moment. We have given this to the authorities to investigate, and the matter is in progress in that respect." - U16 League Executive Director
While it's natural for parents to want the best for their children, this incident clearly crossed a line. Equipment is costly for parents, and it's hoped that the stolen items were returned.
