Sportsnet, one of the largest sports broadcasters in Canada have been compromised on Day 1 of the Stanley Cup Final as the Panthers get set to host the Oilers.

It seems that one of Canada's major sports broadcasters, Sportsnet, has been hacked on the first day of the Stanley Cup Final. I advise you to avoid clicking on any links shared by a Sportsnet account on the social media platform "X".

While the main account denies being hacked (despite sharing bogus links), Sportsnet's public relations department has confirmed they are indeed victims of a hack.

"Please be advised that our main @Sportsnet account on X has been compromised and we are currently working to recover it. In the meantime it is unsafe to click any links or engage with any posts from the account," wrote Sportsnet PR in a statement.

This couldn't have happened at a worse time for Sportsnet, given the start of the biggest series of the season today. It raises questions if the hackers targeted the account deliberately on the Stanley Cup Final day to exploit increased traffic.

As seen in the screenshot below, this is not typical behavior from the account:

Again, I urge you to refrain from clicking on any links from Sportsnet until further notice to avoid potential risks to your devices.
