With only 10 days until the 2023 NHL trade deadline, the excitement is beginning to build.
In breaking news, the Ottawa Senators have traded defenceman Nikita Zaitsev to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a second-round pick in 2023 and a fourth-round pick in 2026. Zaitsev has one more season left on his seven-year contract with an AAV of $4.5 million.

According to reports, Zaitsev had been requesting a trade out of Ottawa for some time, and the Senators were keen to move him on, but without success until now. Although Zaitsev had a limited no-trade clause, Chicago was not on the list of prohibited teams.
