The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired left wing Alex Nylander and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Pittsburgh Penguins. In exchange, the Blue Jackets are sending right wing Emil Bemstrom to the Penguins.
Nylander, 25, has played in 98 NHL games, recording 34 points. He's also had stints with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Sabres. In the AHL, he's tallied 210 points in 330 games.
Bemstrom, 24, has played 204 games for the Blue Jackets, accumulating 69 points. He also has AHL experience with the Cleveland Monsters.
Nylander, a first-round pick in 2016, has won Rookie of the Year awards and has represented Sweden in international tournaments. Bemstrom was selected by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft.
