For some time now, it seems the Anaheim Ducks have been prepared to trade Trevor Zegras, and now we officially know his preferred trade destination.
Despite a promising start to his career in Anaheim, Trevor Zegras has fallen out of favor with GM Pat Verbeek. With many talented players coming through the organization, Zegras has become expendable. After acquiring Cutter Gauthier, many believed Zegras' time in Anaheim was coming to an end, and now it seems to be a formality.
Many teams have been linked to Zegras, but thanks to Peter Baugh of The Athletic, we now know his preferred destination has been the New York Rangers for quite some time.
It's unclear how interested the Rangers are in Zegras, but Baugh notes that the Philadelphia Flyers might be the team pushing hardest for him. With the draft just days away, a Trevor Zegras trade could be nearing, but with a high asking price, things are still uncertain. Most expect a blockbuster deal sometime this summer.
