Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand breaks silence for the first time regarding the Jeremy Swayman contract negotiations with President Cam Neely and General Manager Don Sweeney.

The Bruins are preparing for the 2024-25 season with hopes of competing for the Stanley Cup in a tough Eastern Conference, and the contract dispute with goaltender Jeremy Swayman remains a distraction. After failing to reach an agreement before training camp, the conflict has become more personal, with Swayman's agent denying the team's claim that they offered him $8 million per year in their last proposal.

This has sparked trade rumors surrounding the 25 year old goaltender. However captain Brad Marchand doesn't seem too concerned. In a recent interview he downplayed the situation, saying:

"This is part of the game, it's part of the business. It's a part that nobody enjoys.

Eventually a deal is gonna get done and everybody is gonna move on and be fine."

Marchand is confident a deal will be reached. Even if they do settle the Bruins are still set to start the season with Joonas Korpisalo as their number one goalie which is a surprising turn of events, considering last year's dominance from the Swayman & Ullmark duo.

With the regular season just days away both sides are feeling the pressure to come to an agreement. If they don't it could lead to significant changes for the Bruins moving forward.
