That UFA group includes Chris Tanev, Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin, but according to a recent report, those aren't the only names on the trade block in Calgary.
That comes from David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, and while no teams have been named as officially having contacted Calgary, they are showing a willingness to move him if the right deal comes along.
At the trade deadline, there's many contenders including Edmonton, New Jersey, Toronto and others that are looking for goaltender help, so it's easy to assume they may check in at some point.
Ultimately, the Flames haven't yet approached Markstrom about waiving his NMC to get a deal done, but the sense is that he's open to playing for a contender, so if the right deal appears, look for Calgary to make a splash move or two.
