Leon Draisaitl has come under fire for a ridiculous hit on Panthers star Alexsandar Barkov, but for some reason, it appears he may escape punishment.
Game Two of the Stanley Cup Finals was a frenetic, physical affair, and while the Panthers dominated the scoreboard, the Oilers certainly left their physical mark on the game. Early on, Warren Foegele was given a game misconduct penalty for a dirty hit, and it was followed up by this from Leon Draisaitl;
The expectation after the game was that the Oilers star could face a suspension, but unsurprisingly, given the perceived bias towards Edmonton, he's going to escape any punishment at all.
Given that Barkov missed the remainder of the game, there's the chance that he misses time during this series, so while some people will be happy with this decision, it's safe to say that it's the wrong one.
