The Carolina Hurricanes have claimed goaltender Spencer Martin off waivers from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
This season, goaltender Martin, aged 28, holds a record of 3-8-1 with an .887 save percentage and a 3.65 goals-against average. He joined the Blue Jackets after being claimed off waivers in September, following two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks.
Originally from Oakville, Ontario, Martin made his NHL debut in the 2016-2017 season with the Colorado Avalanche before his stint with the Canucks. Throughout his career, Martin has accumulated a 17-25-6 record with a 3.63 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage.
Notably, the Hurricanes, with whom Martin is currently playing, have the second-worst team save percentage in the NHL at .887 in the 43 games played this season.
