Martin Necas is likely to enter the 2024-25 season as a Carolina Hurricane, according to GM Eric Tulsky.
At the end of last season, it seemed unlikely that Necas would stay with the Hurricanes after the NHL draft. However, with the draft over and trade opportunities dwindling, it looks like he might remain in Carolina, especially after filing for arbitration.
Tulsky on Necas: "As of right now he's an RFA with us, headed for arbitration where he'll get either a 1 or 2 year contract. And he'll play for us. If something happens between now and then, then that'll happen. But right now that's what I'd assume."
Tulsky hasn't ruled out a trade, but there's no rush to move the Czech forward unless the Hurricanes receive a suitable offer.
Hearing that RFA, Martin Necas is setting himself up for a 1-2 year deal post arbitration which is a 3rd party source finding the median of league price and team price of the player, so expect Martin Necas to be playing for the Carolina Hurricanes for the 2024-2025 season. 🌀
