The Chicago Blackhawks have received some bad news about one of the best young players just before the season begins. According to sources, the Blackhawks are expected to place Philipp Kurashev on Long Term Injured Reserve (LTIR).
Kurashev has been dealing with a wrist injury that was considered to be a short-term injury. Something must have changed as now he will be forced to miss at least 24 days and 10 games if placed on LTIR.
In his absence, the Blackhawks will turn to Reese Johnson, Boris Katchouk, and Mackenzie Entwistle. The Blackhawks begin their season tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins. This will also be the beginning of the Connor Bedard era in the NHL.
