Chicago Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall is set to undergo surgery on his right knee, sidelining him for the remainder of the season. This marks Hall's inaugural season with the Blackhawks, having been acquired from the Boston Bruins in June alongside Nick Foligno. Despite his short stint, Hall has contributed two goals and four points in 10 games, grappling with a shoulder injury earlier in the season.
In the previous season, Hall showcased his prowess with 16 goals and 36 points in 61 games, followed by an impressive performance in the playoffs with five goals and eight points in seven games with Boston. The 32-year-old forward is under contract through the next season, with a cap hit of $6 million based on the deal he signed with the Bruins in 2021.
Adding to the Blackhawks' injury woes, Andreas Athanasiou has been placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Nov. 9, due to a groin injury. The team's current record stands at 5-12-0.
