The Edmonton Oilers are off to a dreadful start in 2023-24, and while they've got the pieces to turn it around, it appears major frustration is seeping into their practice.

A young goaltender

According to a report from the Oilers latest practice, young goaltender Stuart Skinner was seen smashing his stick on the post before leaving practice, a sign of worry for Oilers fans.

Skinner just smashed his stick on the goal post in frustration and left the ice. Main practice appears to be over but there are still some drills happening.

It's not yet been confirmed whether the frustration was due to his play, the blue line or a potential injury, but either way, this doesn't look good for Edmonton's best starter.

A tough second season

Skinner was the talk of the Oilers a season ago with an incredible rookie campaign, but after struggles in the playoffs, that has seemingly continued into this season.

In five starts this year, Skinner is 1-3-1 with an .861 save percentage and a 3.62 GAA, and given the Oilers struggles with Jack Campbell in net, if he doesn't turn it around, things could get ugly, and it's easy to see where that frustration comes from.
