Famous rapper Snoop Dogg screws over the Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers had to practice on their alternate ice today because Snoop Dogg has a concert at Rogers Place tonight.
Game six of the Stanley Cup final between the Oilers and the Panthers is set for tomorrow at 5:20 PM Mountain Time. The Oilers are aiming to force a game seven after being down 3-0 in the series, a first in nearly 80 years of Stanley Cup finals history. The game might have been scheduled for tonight if Rogers Place hadn't already been booked for Snoop Dogg's concert.
This is one of the most unusual reasons a team has had to change their practice routine, especially during the finals. However, there's nothing the team can do about it now.
In other news, power forward Evander Kane was seen participating in practice this morning. Kane hasn't played since game two of the finals, and today he practiced with the extras, indicating he might still not play in game six.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch didn't give a clear answer about Kane's availability after practice, which is expected given the strategic secrecy during the Stanley Cup finals. We'll have to wait until warmups tomorrow night to see if Kane returns to the lineup.
