David R, the host of the FLA Cats Hockey Podcast, shared a photo of the new logo on X (formerly Twitter). It's unclear whether he was the employee who took the original photo or if he just reposted it.
Fans have criticized the Panthers, arguing that firing someone over a possible mistake might be an overreaction.
Interestingly, the Panthers aren't the only team updating their center ice logos this season. The Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks have also made changes.
Many hope the Panthers will reconsider their decision and give the employee a second chance, especially since the team recently celebrated a Stanley Cup victory.
