The Los Angeles Kings have surprisingly placed a promising 22-year-old defenseman on waivers and recalled one of their top prospects from the AHL.
Defenseman Brandt Clarke got called up, and Tobias Bjornfot was placed on waivers.
Bjornfot has struggled with injuries throughout the season, limiting his ice-time to a mere 10 minutes at his only game in the NHL this year.
Last season, he divided his time between the AHL and the NHL after spending the whole 2021-22 campaign in the big league.
As for Clarke, the 2021 8th overall pick has been amazing in the AHL, tallying 32 points in 30 games. Don't be surprised if he's never sent down to the AHL again.
