On Tuesday, the Montreal Canadiens disclosed that forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard is set to be sidelined for a duration of six to eight weeks due to a lower-body injury, while defenseman Jordan Harris faces an indefinite absence also attributed to a lower-body injury.
Harvey-Pinard was officially placed on injured reserve on Monday, prompting the Canadiens to summon defenseman Jayden Struble from the AHL's Laval Rocket. The 24-year-old forward has amassed four assists in 13 games during the ongoing season.
Although Harris initially accompanied the team on their California trip, he will now depart to undergo additional testing and a comprehensive evaluation of his condition. The 23-year-old defenseman has contributed three assists in 16 games this season, building on his performance of four goals and 17 points in 65 games during his inaugural full year in the NHL last season.
The Canadiens announced that a player would be called up later on Tuesday to fill the roster spot left vacant by Harris.
